The Bosch GSH11E 110v SDS Max Demolition Hammer/Breaker features a powerful motor enables the delivery of 16.8 J of impact energy for high material removal rates. It is highly durable due to extremely robust components and has a compact design for easy maneuverability and handling.
This hammer breaker is produced with a vibration control system designed to reduce vibrations when using this breaker, thus increasing comfort and decreasing fatigue.
An introduction to demolition hammers: Demolition hammers are designed to demolish concrete & brickwork, not drill into it and so do not rotate. They are lighter to enable horizontal work (see breakers for more powerful upright work or hammers for drilling).
To choose between demolition hammers:
The key consideration when choosing a demolition hammer is the shank size of the chisel or point bit. SDS max size is the latest technology but, in terms of shank size, is the entry-level for demolition hammers. The A/F shank size bits are larger for heavier duty work.
The slots on SDS bits enable the back-and-forth hammer blow action whilst still rotating. This system transfers the energy that the hammer builds up internally through to the tip of the drill bit without damaging the chuck.
